Pile Cap details

Piles are used to carry the load of the structure deep into the ground, and pile caps form the solid foundation on which the piers are then built. Pile foundation is required when the soil bearing capacity is not sufficient for the structure to withstand. This is due to the soil condition or the order of bottom layers, type of loadson foundations, conditions at site and operational conditions. The term "pile cap" may be used to describe a reinforced concrete slab constructed on top of a group of foundation piles to evenly displace or spread the load they are to carry.
