EXPANSION TANK AND CONTROL UNIT OF CHILLER SYSTEM.

Description

This Architectural Drawing Is of Expansion Tank and Control Unit of Chiller System. The expansion tank uses compressed air to maintain system pressures by accepting and expelling the changing volume of water as it heats and cools. Some tank designs incorporate a diaphragm or bladder to isolate the expanded water from the pressure controlling air cushion. The expansion tank is designed to handle the thermal expansion of water as it heats up in the water heater, preventing excessive water pressure. If water pressure gets to high it can damage valves in plumbing fixtures, joints in supply pipes and the water heater itself. An expansion tank, also known as "overflow bottle", is also used in the cooling system of most internal combustion engines, to allow the coolant, the antifreeze, and the air in the system to expand with rising temperature and pressure.
