This Architectural Drawing is AutoCAD 2d drawing of Section of Top and bottom reinforcement of RIBS. The bottom mat of reinforcement resists the positive bending moments at the critical sections in the span and is usually continuous over the entire slab area. The top mat resists the negative bending moments at the critical sections adjacent to the supports in the column strips and middle strips. Generally,in beams we provide top reinforcement in compression zone and bottom reinforcement in tension zone.
