Base plate detailing.

Description

This Architectural Design is of Base Plate Detailing with Dimensions. Typically a base plate consist of a single plate, fillet welded to a steel column and then attached to the foundation with four hold-down bolts. The bolts are normally cast into the foundations with anchor plates to avoid pull out. A temporary form representing the base of a denture; used for making maxillomandibular (jaw) relation records or for arranging artificial trial placement in the mouth to ensure exact fit of a denture. Base plate design is a key part of any structure design because loads are transferred from the superstructure to the foundation via the base plate. The base plate acts as an interface between the superstructure and the foundation; thus, completing the load path into the foundation.
