Stop lane marking

Here Stop line indicates the position beyond which the vehicles should not proceed when required to stop by traffic police, traffic signals or other traffic control devices. Stop lines should either be parallel to the intersecting roadway or at right angles to the approaching vehicle. The marking is a reminder to stop and give way to traffic before moving ahead when it is safe to do so. You can expect to find this particular white line at junctions without traffic lights.
