Stairs - FROM BASE B4 TO B1

Description

This Architectural Drawing is of Stairs - FROM BASE B4 TO B1. Straight stairs, Turning stairs and Continuous stairs are broad types of stairs. A stair is a set of steps leading from one floor of a building to another, typically inside the building. The room or enclosure of the building, in which the stair is located is known as staircase. Stairs are a structure designed to bridge a large vertical distance by dividing it into smaller vertical distances, called steps. Stairs may be straight, round, or may consist of two or more straight pieces connected at angles. The primary purpose of stairs is to provide a simple and easy means of moving between levels. In ancient times, houses and shelters were made up of only one storey, but it was realised that the area above ground level could be utilised to increase the amount of space a structure could offer. The basic components of a staircase are the tread, the horizontal surface we walk on; the riser, the vertical part between each tread; and the stringer, a structural support that holds the treads in place and provides stability.
